In October, Nate was offered a job at Frito-lay and the job was just too good to pass up!! So we decided to move to Cheyenne, WY.
I got back from Utah on the 25th and Nate had already loaded up the truck with the help of many friends and family in Snowflake. Our ward members were amazing! While I was working in Utah, they helped Nate do everything I had not got done before I left.
Such good people!! I owe them many, many thanks!! THANKS!!
We left AZ on the morning of the 26th and drove until we were to tired to go farther. We drove on the next day but with weather, we did not make it to Cheyenne until late. Nate was driving the moving truck and pulling my car. I drove the Suburban and pulled a 12 foot trailer. The kids took turns in the moving truck. Two at a time would ride with him and they each thought it was so cool!! I took the other four kids with me... my car was not so cool....lol...
We stayed at a hotel that night because it was so late and everything had closed down due to weather. The freeways and highways were all closed shortly after we got into town.
The next morning, we went down for breakfast and there were quite a few truckers that were forced to stop for the night....
We had appointments to find a house so we headed out into the storm. We were not out for 20 minutes when we got into a sticky situation. The roads were pure ice and the suburban is just a 2-wheel drive. Pulling a trailer, it didn't do so well. After we slide backwards down a road, we stopped for chains.
So here was the next day in Cheyenne... this lasted for 3 days..!!!

As you can tell, there were not many out on the road...They knew better!!!
We found a good home and were able to move in that night. Despite the weather, the ward that we moved into came out to help us move in. We were amazed at their kindness and help. The Bishop, and many others came out in the cold and helped us. The night ended with everything in the house and a beat up ward member who fell on the ice trying to unload a dresser... I am sorry!!!
We are so grateful for your help!!!
We didn't get a chance to get the beds all set up and such so we went back to the hotel to sleep. The next day was spent unpacking and finding the necessities. The schools were closed because of the weather so we enrolled the kids the next day. Monday, they started at their new school and they LOVE it!!
Taylor and Kaydee are reading buddies every Friday. Kaydee's teacher says she never saw to girls have so much fun reading.
So here we are, just 6 hours from Utah instead of 12 hours and we are way excited about it all. And...Nate loves his job.... It is great!!!
